Community Currency

In the deepening recession, community currency may help us obtain health care in our local community. It also help us move away from dependence on pharmaceutical-driven medicine and the other industries that have grown out of the pharmaceutical industry, such as the health insurance industry and the hospital industry. Health care may finally scale down to a level of quality for individuals, families and communities, instead of scaled to size for corporate profit-making.

Cuba's Public Healthcare and Doctor Training: Can we get some of this in the U.S.?

Also adding a link to this podcast from Open Source Radio, interviewing American med students in Cuba. They are getting training that emphasizes preventative medicine and education instead of heroic but astronomically expensive organ transplants, etc. A poor country like Cuba has better basic healthcare than the U.S. Makes you think... I personally enjoy all the benefits to yoga. It's a nice balance on the off days when I'm not training. I first started ashtanga yoga about 2 yrs ago through a class. Iliked the instructor, so started making it a habit. She's been practicingvarious forms of yoga for 10 years and her frame is very petite and muscular,built like a ballerina.
